US intelligence analysts are investigating whether Russia helped Iran target CIA facilities in the Gulf by providing advanced drone technology or targeting information, according to a Reuters report citing four people familiar with US intelligence assessments.

The officials said intelligence agencies have not reached a final conclusion on whether Moscow played a role in the attacks. However, they said the precision and effectiveness of the strikes, along with Russia’s wider technical support for Iran, have raised questions about possible Russian involvement.

Reuters had reported that US officials have previously acknowledged Russian support for Iran’s strikes against American targets in the Gulf region. However, the intelligence investigation into whether Moscow assisted specifically with attacks on CIA facilities has not been publicly disclosed before.

US intelligence is investigating whether Russia provided Iran with advanced drone technology or targeting information to strike CIA facilities in the Gulf. Officials stated that no final conclusion has been reached.
