Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day address, warned that infiltration was altering India’s demographic balance and posed a grave threat to national security.
“Infiltration is changing our demography, stealing our livelihoods, seizing tribal lands, and endangering our sisters and daughters. We cannot hand over our nation to infiltrators — we must act now,” he said.
Announcing the launch of a high-powered Demography Mission, Modi said the initiative would directly tackle the crisis by safeguarding national interests, ensuring social harmony, and protecting “every inch of our land.”
The mission, he added, would be tasked with confronting the challenge in a comprehensive and coordinated manner.
