Police arrested the husband of P Radha Gayatri, a Delhi woman found dead at a Mussoorie homestay. He was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

What was meant to be a birthday celebration in the hills ended in the mysterious death of a 27-year-old woman from Delhi. Nearly a month later, her husband has been arrested after police said their investigation pointed to his alleged involvement in the case.
P Radha Gayatri, an IT professional, had travelled with her husband to a homestay along the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road. The couple were visiting the area to celebrate the husband’s birthday when Gayatri was found dead inside their room on June 15.
Her husband, who is also employed in the IT sector, was taken into custody from east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area. Police made the arrest after securing a non-bailable warrant from the court of the Judicial Magistrate in Mussoorie.
On Saturday, he was presented before a court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, according to Dehradun Police.
What Police Found Inside The Homestay Room
Gayatri’s body was discovered on the floor of the room where the couple had been staying. Police also found blood marks on the bedsheet, along with two empty liquor bottles and food items.
“The body was found lying on the floor without clothes, with bloodstains on the bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles and food items were found in the room,” the police statement said.
The husband had told investigators that the couple drank alcohol before falling asleep at around 3.30 am on June 15. According to his account, he discovered Gayatri dead after waking up later that morning.
Father’s Complaint Leads To Investigation
Questions over the circumstances of Gayatri’s death were raised by her father, P Sudhakar, who approached police and sought an investigation into what had happened to his daughter. Her family also voiced suspicion about the husband.
A case was subsequently registered, and investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the death.
Police later claimed that findings from the investigation indicated the husband’s alleged involvement. Authorities then secured a non-bailable warrant before arresting him in Delhi.
The investigation remains underway.
Gayatri and her husband had married on November 8, 2025. Their families are originally from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
