In the video, recorded in Delhi, Shokeen allegedly makes derogatory remarks about the youth’s physical features and regional identity after he says he is from Tripura.

A video of Shokeen allegedly making racial slurs and mocking the youth’s appearance went viral on social media.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has condemned the alleged racial abuse of a youth from Tripura by Delhi-based content creator Amir Shokeen, warning that the accused would face action.
In a post on X, Rijiju said the Delhi and Tripura police would teach Shokeen a “hard lesson”, adding that there had been a delay in filing an official complaint.
“This evil man will be punished. There was delay in lodging the official complaint but Delhi Police and Tripura Police will teach him a hard lesson,” Rijiju wrote.

He also warned against ignoring such behaviour, saying, “People who tolerate such wicked behavior in the society are also responsible for the spread of hatred.”
The remarks came after a purported video of Shokeen allegedly making racial slurs and mocking the youth’s appearance went viral on social media, triggering widespread anger across the Northeast.
Racial Slurs, Mockery In Viral Video
In the video, recorded in Delhi, Shokeen allegedly makes derogatory remarks about the youth’s physical features and regional identity after he says he is from Tripura.
The content creator reportedly calls him “Chinese” and “chinky”, compares his appearance to that of pop star Michael Jackson and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and makes an obscene reference to Tripura’s historic name.
The footage also allegedly shows him making offensive gestures and touching the youth inappropriately while presenting the interaction as online comedy.
The video has drawn sharp criticism, with several political leaders demanding action over the alleged racial harassment.
Tripura CM Directs Police To Coordinate
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday directed the state’s Director General of Police to coordinate with the Delhi Police over the incident.
“Law will take its course of action,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a post on X.
Suraj Debbarma, president of the Youth Tipra Federation, the youth wing of the Tipra Motha Party, also lodged a complaint at the New Capital Complex Police Station in Tripura. The complaint accuses Shokeen of racial harassment, cyberbullying and making derogatory remarks against the state’s indigenous communities.
Leaders Across Parties Demand Action
Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma condemned the alleged remarks and called for the accused to be arrested.
Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury demanded “immediate, strict, and exemplary action” against the content creator.
“Arrest him. Prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. Make an example so loud and so clear that no one ever dares to insult Tripura and the Tiprasa ever again,” Chaudhury said.
Congress MLA Birajit Singha also criticised the alleged behaviour, saying it normalised racial profiling and sexual harassment against people from the Northeast.
“Extremely disturbing to see this behaviour towards a youth from Tripura by a person named Amir Shokeen, who has stooped so low on social media platforms, normalising racial profiling and sexual harassment towards people from NE India,” Singha noted.
