Delhi court extends NIA custody of Anmol Bishnoi by 7 days amid security concerns. Anmol is wanted in several cases involving Siddique, Salman Khan and Sidhu Moosewala.

A Delhi court on Saturday extended the NIA custody of deported gangster Anmol Bishnoi by another seven days. Special Judge Prashant Sharma granted the extension until December 5 during a hearing held under tight security at the NIA headquarters.
The hearing was held inside the NIA headquarters after Anmol filed an application claiming a threat to his life. Following the submission, the court opted to conduct proceedings within the agency’s premises to ensure his safety during the judicial process.
Anmol, who was “removed” from the US on November 18 after being detained there last year, is wanted in several high-profile cases, including the killing of NCP leader Siddique, the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s home in April 2024, and the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The gangster was brought back to India on November 19 and subsequently arrested by the NIA. The same day, he was sent to 11-day NIA custody by Delhi’s Patiala House Court.
There are 31 cases registered against the gangster across Rajasthan, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
Earlier this month, investigating agencies had received information that Bishnoi, who kept moving between the United States and Canada, had been detained in Canada. He was reportedly carrying a Russian Passport, procured on the basis of a forged document, news agency PTI reported, citing an official.
All About Anmol Bishnoi
Anmol is the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is accused of running a global criminal syndicate despite being in prison. Anmol gained notoriety after being placed on the NIA’s most-wanted list, with a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
Designated a significant conspirator in the case, Anmol was chargesheeted by the NIA in March 2023 after investigators uncovered his direct role in facilitating terrorist activities across India between 2020 and 2023. According to the agency, he worked closely with internationally designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, providing critical operational support from abroad.
He is a key accused in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on the night of October 12, 2024, in front of his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra. Several persons related to the gang headed by Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol’s elder brother, who is in prison, were arrested in the Siddique murder. Anmol Bishnoi, among others, were shown as wanted in the case by the Mumbai police.
In addition to his involvement in the cases of Siddique and Khan, Anmol’s name also surfaced in the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer and Congress politician Sidhu Moosewala. He is alleged to have provided weapons and logistical support to the men who killed Moosewala.
Absconding since 2022, Anmol is the 19th person arrested in connection with the terror-gangster network allegedly run by his brother, jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
