Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are still together. Despite rumors of a potential breakup, a representative for the ’50 Shades of Grey’ actor told People magazine that she and the Coldplay frontman have not parted ways.
“They are happily together,” the representative of the 34-year-old actor said. The representative added, “They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on.” The report also mentioned that the couple is “going strong.”
On Friday, August 17, the Daily Mail reported that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin had ended their seven-year relationship and called off their engagement. A source told the international portal, “Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term.”
The source added, “They’re both busy people, Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments that don’t naturally intertwine. They wanted it to work but it just hasn’t, and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on.”
In March, it was reported that Dakota and Chris were engaged. However, the couple has never officially confirmed their engagement.
Recently, the couple attended the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K., where the actor supported Chris during his band’s headlining performance. This appearance followed a report from a source who told People that their relationship was in a positive phase. “They’ve had their ups and downs, but they’re definitely back on track,” the insider shared, noting that the couple is “going strong.”
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson were first rumored to be dating in 2017 when they were seen enjoying a sushi date together in Los Angeles.
