A Chinese robot has entered the Guinness World Records by completing a three-day, 100-kilometre trek, the longest reported distance ever walked by a humanoid machine.
According to the Guinness World Records, the 169-centimetre AgiBot A2 began its journey from the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou on the evening of November 10, traversing highways and city streets before arriving at Shanghai’s historic waterfront Bund area on November 13. It completed a journey of 106.286 km.
The robot was made by Agibot Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (China) in Shanghai, China.

“The AgiBot A2 robot was optimized between April and May of 2025 to avoid falling during hundreds of hours of continuous operation.
On 17 August, the robot successfully completed a 24-hour fully autonomous walk in high temperatures nearing 40°C, broadcasted live online. This GWR challenge walking over 100 km undoubtedly marks a significant breakthrough for the AgiBot A2 robot,” the Guinness World Records said in a statement.
In a post on X, the robot maker stating that its two-legged ambler navigated varied surfaces… all while adhering to traffic regulations during its continuous 106.286-kilometre (66-mile) journey, which was certified as the first feat of its kind on Thursday.
Video clips published by AgiBot showed the silver-and-black A2 trudging along a road past cyclists and scooters, before picking up its pace and marching down the Bund in front of the Shanghai skyline, AFP reported.
AgiBot said the A2 is designed for customer service roles, and is equipped with a chat function and lip-reading capabilities.
Chinese capital had hosted the world’s first-ever humanoid robot games in August, where more than 500 “athletes” participated in various disciplines ranging from basketball to competitive cleaning.
