The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates of the practical exams of the CBSE Class 10th and 12th board examinations for the academic year 2024-25. According to the official notification, the board is scheduled to conduct the CBSE Board Practical Exams 2025 for classes 10 and 12 in January 2025. CBSE 10th, 12th Board 2025 practical exams will commence on January 1 and the theory examinations will begin on February 15 next year.
“The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XIl and the Board’s Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively,” CBSE stated in official notice.
However, CBSE winter bound schools will conduct the CBSE Board 2025 practical exams between November 5 and December 5, 2024. The board has also released SOPs and guidelines for conducting the Practical Examination/Project/Internal Assessments in winter-bound school. These schools will remain closed in January 2025.

CBSE Releases Subject-Wise Marks Bifurcation
CBSE has also released the subject-wise marks bifurcation for classes 10th and 12th. The board has instructed schools to carefully go through the details of marks distribution to avoid any inconvenience to students or mistakes in uploading marks for practical examinations and internal assessments. CBSE has released the list containing the Subject Code with the following details-
1. Class
2. Subject Code
3. Subject Name
4. Maximum Marks Theory Examination
5. Maximum Marks Practical Examination
6. Maximum Marks Project Assessment
7. Maximum Marks Internal Assessment (|A)
8. Whether External Examiner will be appointed for practical/project
assessment
9. Whether Practical Answer-book will be provided by the Board
10. Type of Answer Book that will be used in Theory Examinations
to ensure the smooth conduction of practical examination/project/internal assessments and theory examinations of classes 10th and 12th. According to the official notification, the maximum marks allotted to each subject is 100 and the marks are distributed among the theory, practical, project and IA components according to the details released in the list by the CBSE. The CBSE Board 2025 theory exams will be conducted from February 15, 2025.
