On September 3, the GST Council announced the new slab.
The GST on motorcycles below 350cc is reduced from 28% to 18%. The bikes of many popular models will be cheaper than 22 September. It includes bikes like Hero Splender, Honda Shine, TVS Raider. These bikes can be cheaper to about 13 thousand rupees.
At the same time, two-wheelers above 350cc will be taxed at 40%. With this, these bikes will become expensive by about 40 thousand rupees. However, Italian company Moto Morini has reduced the price of two of its bikes to 91 thousand rupees. It includes retro street and scramble.
Bikes like Himalayan 450, Shot Gun will be inflation
Bikes above 350cc are now placed in the category of ‘Sin and Luxury Items’ according to the GST slab chart. This will make bikes like 440-650cc Royal Enfield bikes, KTM 390 expensive. These bikes can be expensive up to 40 thousand rupees.
Moto Morini’s bikes from 22 September will also be 33 thousand expensive
Moto Morini says that after the implementation of the new GST rates from 22 September 2025, the prices of both bikes will increase by Rs 33,000. The new GST slab will levy 40% tax on two-wheelers above 350cc. That is, if you buy these bikes after 22 September, then it will be available for about 4.60 lakhs.
This year the second time Moto Morinee Bike prices cut
- In the beginning of 2025, Moto Mouini’s 650 Retro Street was priced at Rs 6.99 lakh, while 650 scramblers were available for Rs 7.10 lakh.
- In February this year, their prices were cut by Rs 2 lakh, after which Retro Street came to 4.99 lakhs and Scrambler for 5.20 lakh rupees.
- Now the brand has further reduced prices, due to which Moto Morini has now reduced the price of both models to Rs 4.29 lakh.
Can take up to 95% loan on bike cost
The company has also launched loans and EMI options to make shopping easier. Now you can take a loan on the cost of a bike up to 95%, and there is also an option to extend the loan period.
Both variants have a Paralel-twin engine of the same 649cc, which gives 55.7 horsepower and 54 Nm of torque. It looks quite smooth and powerful in riding. Difference is just cosmetic.
The scrambleler has wire-spoke wheels, giving an off-road look, while retro street has alloy wheels, which look more modern and stylish. The rest of the suspension, braking and features are the same.
Prices close to Royal Enfield Interceptor
After this price cut, these bikes by Moto Morini have come close to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (starting from 3.10 lakhs) and beer 650 (starting from 3.46 lakhs).
Ministry of Heavy Industries said- Bikes will be more accessible
The Ministry of Heavy Industries said about GST cuts- low GST will reduce the prices of bikes, making them more accessible to youth, professionals and middle class families.
Rural and semi-urban are the main means of bike transport in India. Farmers, small traders and daily laborers will directly benefit from cheap bikes. The increase in demand is also expected to generate more employment.
