Bihar Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan’s 17-year-old son, Ayan Khan, allegedly died by suicide at their residence on Monday. The class 12 student had been introduced to Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to Bihar.
The incident took place at Khan’s official residence in Patna and police officials have arrived at the scene. Further details are awaited.
The news of Ayan’s death has sent shockwaves through both the local community and Congress circles.
According to India Today report, Ayan ended his life by hanging in the absence of his father.
Khan, the Congress MLA from Kadwa and the party’s in-charge for West Bengal, is currently outside Patna but is expected to return after hearing about his son’s death.
His family members have already gathered at the residence. Ayan had one brother and one sister, who is studying law in England
