People from other communities say that when the country is at war, everyone should serve in the army. Netanyahu gets votes from the people of the Haredi community. In such a situation, they want to maintain this exemption.

At the same time, Gadi Eiseenkot’s stance is different from Netanyahu. They want people from the Haredi community to also join the army or civil service.

The population of the Haredi community in Israel has reached about 1 million. This is approximately 13% of the total population.
