After an accident, when the electrical system failed, these digital door handles would stop working, due to which the doors would get locked and people would get trapped inside the vehicle. The Chinese regulator has said in a notice issued on its website that in case of a serious collision or accident, if the car’s electrical system fails, these handles prevent the passengers from getting out immediately and also do not allow the rescue team outside to reach inside.
