Industrialist Anand Mahindra has reacted to a viral video from Bihar showing a Scorpio Classic being lifted onto a house roof by crane. While he found the unconventional parking solution amusing, he also questioned the roof’s ability to support the SUV and issued a warning.
The incident took place in Bihar’s Gopalganj, where Manoj Yadav’s newly-bought Scorpio Classic was left without a driver while he was away working in Israel.
His family then came up with a solution as they hired a crane to lift the SUV onto the second floor of their two-storey house.
The viral video soon caught Anand Mahindra’s attention, prompting him to share his take on the bizarre parking arrangement.
“Now that’s what you call taking parking to the next level,” Mahindra wrote, opening his post on a lighter note.
He went on to explain the circumstances behind the unusual decision, writing, “When Manoj Yadav of Gopalganj, who works in Israel, was left without anyone to drive his newly acquired Scorpio Classic, his family apparently decided that the safest parking spot was on the roof of their two-storey home.”
Mahindra also took a playful dig at the SUV’s reputation for tackling difficult terrain.
However, his post turned serious as he raised concerns about the safety of placing such a heavy vehicle on a residential structure.
“Full marks for ingenuity and affection for the vehicle, but I confess I’m worried about whether that roof was designed to bear the weight,” Mahindra wrote.
He ended his post with a clear warning to others: “Please don’t try this at (your) home!”
