An AI-generated video showing Punjab Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann being slapped by a man inside a government school has triggered a political controversy in the state.
The video was shared by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Punjab unit on Saturday and has since gone viral on social media.
The clip opens with a man approaching Mann and slapping him. It then shifts to a classroom, where a teacher is seen writing incorrect spellings of “vegetables” and “deer” as “vegitables” and “dear” on the board and asking students to copy them.

The video then shows Mann and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal looking into the classroom as the class continues. A man, portrayed as a parent, subsequently enters the classroom and checks a student’s notebook. On finding the incorrect spellings, he becomes angry and slaps CM Mann.
The man is heard telling the Punjab Chief Minister, “Mann sir, my son is taught wrong. If he makes mistakes in exams, then who will be responsible, my son or your govt?”
Sharing the video, the BJP’s Punjab unit wrote, “Bhagwant Mann ji, when a mistake gets written into a child’s mind, who will erase its harm?”
AAP Slams BJP Over AI Video
The post drew a sharp response from AAP, which accused the BJP of displaying an “anti-Punjab” mindset.
AAP Chief National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar criticised the BJP over the video and alleged that the party was promoting hateful content against Punjab and “Sardars”.
In a post on X, she wrote, “The BJP’s anti-Punjab and hateful mindset is now being openly flaunted by Nitin Nabain ji himself. The limit is that he even has the audacity to conspire to have his goons attack Sardars. First, BJP MPs go to pay tribute to Sajjan Kumar, and then they post an objectionable video insulting Sardars. For this shameful post, not just Nitin Nabain, but the entire BJP will have to apologize to Punjab.”
