From bank deposits to real estate dominance, Vijay’s asset mix reflects a conservative wealth strategy with minimal exposure to equities.

In total, Vijay’s stock market exposure is under Rs 20 lakh, less than 0.04% of his declared net worth.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay filed his election affidavit in late March, declaring a net worth of Rs 624 crore. The document, which breaks down his assets in considerable detail, reveals a portfolio that is heavily weighted towards bank deposits and real estate, with almost no exposure to equity markets.
His total movable assets stand at approximately Rs 404 crore, and immovable assets at around Rs 220 crore. He has declared zero liabilities.
Over Rs 213 Crore Sitting in a Single Savings Account
The most striking figure in the affidavit is a balance of over Rs 213 crore in a single Indian Overseas Bank account at Saligramam. This alone accounts for more than half his total movable assets and is held in a regular savings account rather than any market-linked instrument. He reported a total income of Rs 184.53 crore for FY 2024-25.
Fixed Deposits Across Four Banks
Vijay has spread an additional Rs 100 crore across fixed deposits with four banks: Rs 40 crore with Axis Bank, Rs 25 crore with Indian Overseas Bank, Rs 20 crore with HDFC Bank, and Rs 15 crore with the State Bank of India.
Together with the savings balance, this means the overwhelming bulk of his liquid wealth is in instruments that offer guaranteed returns with no market risk, a conservative approach by any measure.
Negligible Stock Market Exposure
His equity holdings are minimal. Vijay holds shares in Jaya Nagar Property Pvt Ltd worth approximately Rs 19.69 lakh, Indian Overseas Bank shares worth Rs 9,600, and Sun Paper Mill Ltd shares worth Rs 25,000. In total, his stock market exposure is under Rs 20 lakh — less than 0.04% of his declared net worth.
His wealth is built almost entirely on cash deposits, fixed income, and property.
Real Estate Across Chennai
Vijay’s immovable assets of approximately Rs 220 crore are spread across residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. Ten residential properties in Neelankarai, Saligramam, Mylapore, Egmore, and other localities are valued at around Rs 115 crore. Commercial properties in Parivakkam, Thyagaraya Nagar, Sholinganallur, and Koppur account for approximately Rs 82.8 crore. Non-agricultural land in Porur, Saligramam, and Neelankarai is valued at Rs 22 crore. Agricultural land in Vattapatti village, Kodaikanal, amounts to Rs 20 lakh.
His declared income sources include rental income from properties alongside self-employment and interest income, indicating these assets generate active returns.
Vehicles, Jewellery, and Family Loans
His vehicle holdings include a 2024 Toyota Lexus 350 (Rs 3.01 crore), a 2024 BMW i7 (Rs 2 crore), a 2024 Toyota Vellfire (Rs 1.63 crore), a 2020 BMW 530 (Rs 80.5 lakh), a 2024 Maruti Swift (Rs 5.35 lakh), and a 2025 TVS XL Super bike (Rs 67,400).
He has declared 883 grams of gold and silver articles valued at Rs 1.2 crore. The affidavit also lists 14 loans and advances, including amounts extended to family members — Rs 12.6 crore to his spouse Sangeetha Vijay, Rs 8.78 lakh to Jason Sanjay, and Rs 4.6 lakh to Divya Saasha.
Zero Debt
Vijay has declared no liabilities and no outstanding dues to any bank or financial institution. His spouse, Sangeetha, has separately declared assets totalling Rs 15.76 crore, including movable assets of Rs 15.51 crore and immovable property worth Rs 25 lakh.
