Polish superstar Iga Swiatek came up with a hilarious one-liner during her press conference alongside mixed doubles partner Casper Ruud, following their finals defeat to Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
Ruud listed the similarities between Swiatek and himself as the Pole exclaimed, ‘Rafa’s Kids!’ in a nod to the Spaniard’s influence on the two.

“I think we had good chemistry. We’re similar people. We’re easygoing. Iga is humble,” Ruud said.
“Rafa’s kids!” exclaimed Swiatek in a nod to the iconic southpaw, as the dup trained at the 22-time Grand Slam winner’s academy in Mallorca.
“I guess that’s what some say,” Ruud acknowledged.
Swiatek and Ruud gave a great account of themselves at the recently concluded revamped edition of the mixed double at the US Open as they reached the final, before falling at the ultimate hurdle to defending champions Errani and Vavassori as the Italian duo of Errani and Vavassori posted a 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.
The initial three rounds, including the semi-finals on Wednesday night, featured short sets with no-ad scoring and a 10-point match tiebreak instead of a third set. The final reverted to traditional sets with a 10-point match tiebreak.
