Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Friday said that Operation Sindoor is not over yet and that Indian soldiers need to remain vigilant all the time throughout the year.
Addressing a gathering at Capstone Seminar in the national capital on Friday, CDS General Anil Chauhan said, “Operation Sindoor still continues. Our preparedness level has to be very high, 24×7, 365 days.”
General Anil Chauhan further outlined a transformative vision for the future of warfare, saying India is at the threshold of what he termed the “third revolution in military affairs”. He also underlined the role of technology in the emerging landscape of warfare.
“We are seeing an unprecedented pace driven by a relentless march of technology. We now stand at the cusp of what I refer to as the third revolution in military affairs, a term I have coined as convergence kind of warfare. This form of warfare merges kinetic and non-kinetic means, combining elements of first and second generation warfare with the third. It is converging tactical, operational, and strategic kind of domains,” CDS General Chauhan said.
The CDS further stressed on the significance of knowledge of both ‘Shastra’ (warfare) and ‘Shaastra’ (knowledge) in military.
“Learning about both ‘Shastra’ (warfare) and ‘Shaastra’ (knowledge) essential for military,” he added.
He pointed out that India will need a new kind of military professional in near future—one who embodies a blend of information mastery, technological expertise, and scholarly insight.
“In emerging landscape of warfare, future soldier will need to be mix of info, tech and scholar warriors,” CDS Chauhan further said.
