A plane of Air India, flying on the Vancouver-Kolkata-Delhi sector, returned to Kolkata shortly after flying on Thursday. The AI 186 aircraft flying from Vancouver with 162 passengers and crew landed in Kolkata for its routine technical stoppage and later left for Delhi.
An official said that after staying in the air for 25 minutes, the aircraft had to return and take a precautionary measure, as a passenger became ill. After removing the sick passenger from the aircraft, the aircraft left Kolkata for Delhi again at 8.30 pm.

A special evacuation plane from Jerevan in Armenia reached Delhi at 10.30 pm on Thursday night. In this, 173 Indian citizens were brought home from Iran. Under Operation Indus, a total of 4415 Indian citizens (3597 from Iran and 818 from Israel) have been evacuated through 19 special evacuation planes including 3 Indian Air Force aircraft so far. Of these, 14 OCI card holders, 9 Nepali, 4 Sri Lankan citizens and Iranian wife of one Indian were brought to India.
