An IndiGo flight from Raipur to Delhi experienced severe turbulence due to a dust storm in the national capital on Sunday evening, forcing the pilot to abort landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were hit by a dust storm followed by light rain on Sunday evening, shortly after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted showers and strong winds.

A passenger-recorded video surfaced on social media, showing the moment the aircraft shook mid-air during the turbulence.

After circling the skies multiple times, Flight 6E 6313 safely landed at Delhi airport, with the pilot citing wind speeds of up to 80 km/h as the reason for aborting the initial landing.

According to the IMD, southern parts of Delhi were expected to receive very light to light rainfall along with thunderstorms, due to a cloud cluster moving east-southeastward.

Adverse weather conditions on Sunday evening led to the diversion of four flights and delays to numerous others at Delhi airport.

A source told PTI that between 5 pm and 5:30 pm, one flight each was diverted to Chandigarh and Amritsar, while two were redirected to Jaipur. As per flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, over 350 flights were delayed at the airport on Sunday.
