India at CWG 2026: Gulveer Singh eyes medal, boxers in quarterfinals, weightlifters compete, plus track, swim and lawn bowls action.

India’s schedule at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Tuesday, July 28, is headlined by Gulveer Singh’s quest for a maiden CWG medal in the men’s 10,000m final.
National record holder and Asian champion Gulveer will compete in the men’s 10,000m final, aiming for his first CWG medal. Meanwhile, India’s boxing campaign reaches a crucial stage, with five pugilists in quarterfinal action, each needing one more victory to bag a medal.
Preeti Pawar (women’s 54kg), Priya Ghanghas (women’s 60kg), Parveen Hooda (women’s 65kg), Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (men’s 55kg) and Kapil Pokhariya (men’s 90kg) will all be in quarterfinal action at the SEC Centre, with a semifinal berth and a guaranteed bronze medal at stake.
India’s weightlifters, the nation’s standout performers at these CWG, will look to add to the medal tally through Nirupama Devi Seram (women’s 63kg) and Birmingham 2022 bronze medallist Harjinder Kaur (women’s 69kg).
Mirabai Chanu’s historic third consecutive CWG gold has spearheaded India’s weightlifting campaign at Glasgow 2026, with Rishikanta Singh, Raja Muthupandi, Gyaneshwari Yadav, Valluri Ajaya Babu and Bindyarani Devi also contributing medals.
On the track, Rajesh Ramesh and Vishal TK started their men’s 400m campaigns in the heats, while Pooja Singh competes in the women’s high jump final. In the pool, Olympian Sajan Prakash (men’s 50m butterfly) and Srihari Nataraj (men’s 100m backstroke) will be in heat action, with semifinal berths on the line.
Para swimmers Ravi Veera Venkata Bhavani Karthik Budigna and Imam Ali will contest the men’s S13 50m freestyle final.
