Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer S Chockalingam has warned of strict legal action against those spreading misconceptions about EVM tampering. He said that such actions are a serious crime and no one involved in it will be spared. Earlier, NCP (Sharad faction) leader Jayant Patil had expressed concern over the use of EVM in the assembly elections and demanded elections to be conducted through ballot paper.
