According to the police, their relationship was not going well. The girl tried to break up with him, due to which he got angry and murdered her. After this he escaped from Bengaluru and reached Varanasi via Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. However, he returned to Bengaluru on 29 November. Police arrested him from Devanahalli area near the airport.

Last week, both of them together had booked a service apartment in Indiranagar for three days. Maya had come to this service apartment to meet Aarav on 23 November. At 8:20 am on 26th November, Aarav left the apartment and took a cab and switched off the phone. Meanwhile he murdered Maya.

The police had formed three teams to catch him. One of these teams went to North Kannada districts, while another team was sent to Kerala.

Many wound marks were found on the girl’s body Police investigation revealed that Maya Gogoi Deka had multiple knife wounds and head injury marks on her body, but the main cause of death is believed to be a deep wound in the chest. The police checked the CCTV footage, in which no one was seen entering the apartment between November 23 and November 26.

Police said that during the investigation we came to know that the accused had an old knife with which he allegedly murdered the girl. The accused had ordered a two meter long nylon rope from the Zepto app, which was delivered to this service apartment. The police found the ordered rope cover at the crime scene.

Bengaluru East DCP D. Devaraja said that three teams were formed to nab the accused.

The girl came to Bengaluru six months ago Police said that the victim had come to Bengaluru six months ago and had started working in a private company in Jayanagar only 20 days ago. She was living with her sister and a friend in an apartment in Whitefield area in Bengaluru.

Last week she had called her sister and told her that she would not be coming home as she was going to attend an office party. Later she sent another message saying that she would not come home on Saturday also because she was partying that day also.

Her sister told the police that Maya and the accused were in a relationship for 6 months. Both met on social media.
