In the international ranking, the university has been ranked in the band of 801 to 850. The university has been ranked in the band of 801 to 850 in Asia and 263rd in South Asia.

Vice Chancellor Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak said, “Kanpur University has once again registered its name at the international level. After A++ grade in NAAC and excellent performance in NIFT, getting a place in QS ranking is a big achievement for the university.”

In the last few years, Kanpur University has taken many important steps at the global level. New courses, research, and startups have been started here at the international level. Students from foreign countries are coming here to study and the number of PhD scholars has also increased. Due to an increase in technical innovation and research work, the university has been included in this ranking, which is a big achievement for the university. IIT Kanpur and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University are the only institutions from Kanpur that have been included in the QS ranking. This achievement is a matter of pride not only for Kanpur but for the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.

In the recently released QS Asia University Rankings 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has emerged as the top performer among Indian higher education institutions (HEIs), securing the 44th spot followed by IIT Bombay at rank 48. IIT Madras has grabbed the 56th position. In total, seven Indian institutes, including five IITs, IISc Bengaluru, and the University of Delhi, have made it into the top 100 of the rankings this year.
