During the performance of Aura Tour 2026 held in Delhi on Friday, Diljit Dosanjh has responded to the statement of Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Deepke, in which he had said that artists should support him against the government, otherwise their films (Sutlej) get banned. Now Diljit has said in response that Punjabis should not be taught how to fight. Now it has come to light that some time ago Abhijeet Deepke had attended Diljit’s Chicago concert. He has also issued a post and apologized. “I love you all because I am an artiste. If I am silent, let me remain silent. I support you all, but don’t teach Punjabis to fight,” Diljit said on the Delhi concert stage. Abhijeet Deepke took the initiative of reconciliation, apologized. Abhijeet, in his clarification regarding Diljeet’s criticism, wrote, ‘In the name of Diljeet Paaji, Paaji, when we were protesting in June, I was a little hurt by your comment. This was not because I had any personal grudge against you, but because I have always seen you as a person who, even by his own words, raises his voice against what is wrong. He further wrote, ‘To be honest, I have always been your fan and I am still so. I still listen to your songs even today. In May this year, just before returning to India, I also came to see your concert in Chicago. Your courage, your genuine and outspoken style and making India known across the world while staying connected to its roots, these are the things I have always been a fan of. Perhaps this is the reason why that comment of yours hurt me a little more, because I have always respected you a lot. Deepke said – Forgive me considering me as a younger brother. In the end, Abhijeet Deepke apologized and wrote, my respect and love for you does not diminish due to one disagreement or misunderstanding. Rest of the paaji, consider it as younger brother and forgive me. And finally I would just like to say, “Gabru ta vairi nu vi meetha bolda, ni tu ta fer jatt da pyar goriya.” Know why the dispute happened between Diljit and Deepke. In June, Cockroach Janata Party started protesting against NEET paper leak. Diljit did Instagram live in the beginning of July. During this, a fan asked him whether he would join the students’ protest at Jantar Mantar? On this, Diljit had said, “Where is Jantar Mantar to perform? Brother, keep me away from things like performing. I am an artiste, I am not a leader. Everything can never be right in life. It is not possible for everything to be right in this world.” After this, he avoided speaking directly on the controversy and said jokingly, “Congratulations to those who are protesting and also congratulations to those against whom the protest is being held. I don’t know much about this.” Abhijeet Dipke had taunted Diljeet, some members of CJP got angry with this statement of Diljeet. Abhijeet Dipke also took a dig at him. On July 12, when Punjabi singer Kaka reached Jantar Mantar in support of the protest, Abhijeet pointed towards him and said – “He is also an artist, brother. If artists do not support, their films are banned.” This statement of Abhijeet Deepke was linked to Diljit because then his film Sutlej was stopped from release and was removed from the OTT platform.
