Air Force officer KM Tausif Souri, who made the video of Sheikh Hasina’s escape to India in Bangladesh, was found in Dhaka’s Turag river on October 28. The video of him leaving the country went viral on social media. A few days after this incident, Souri was removed from the Air Force in September 2024. According to his father, the family was told that he was removed for disciplinary reasons. However, the family said that Sauri had a good record and had flown for about 200 hours. The Air Force had also said that his removal had no connection with Hasina’s video. He was retired from service as per rules. Said in the podcast – RAW report was propaganda. In July 2026, Souri had participated in a podcast named ‘Speak with Rashid’. He was asked whether he had lost his job because of making Haseena’s video? On this he said, ‘It is possible.’ On allegations of links with RAW, he had said that Amar Desh’s report was propaganda. According to him, wrong things were spread against him through the report. In the same podcast, Sauri had also raised questions on the investigation of the fighter jet accident that took place on July 21, 2025. A training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force had fallen into Millstone School and College in Dhaka. 37 people died and more than 170 were injured in the accident. Sauri had raised questions on the maintenance of the aircraft and the investigation of the accident. Father said – Son was afraid about his safety. Sauri’s father Inayatul Karim Helal said that after the podcast went viral, his son started worrying about his safety. He said that Sauri sometimes talked about feeling scared, but did not tell the reason for it.
