Former IAF officer Jitendra Mishra has been appointed CEO of Ram Mandir, sources said, in a key administrative appointment.

Former Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, who headed the Western Air Command during Operation Sindoor, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ram Mandir on Wednesday. Mishra, now a retired Indian Air Force officer and served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Western Air Command. He will be the first permanent CEO of Ram Mandir.
Who Is Jeetendra Mishra?
Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, SYSM, AVSM, VSM, retired from the Indian Air Force on April 30, 2026, after superannuation.
According to the service details, Mishra belonged to the Fighter stream and served under service number 18575 F(P). He was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, as part of the 138 Course.
His service career saw him rise through several ranks before becoming an Air Marshal and subsequently taking charge as Commander-in-Chief.
Mishra was promoted to Flight Lieutenant on December 6, 1991, and later became Wing Commander on May 5, 2003. He was promoted to Group Captain on March 2, 2009, and Air Commodore on June 17, 2013.
He became Air Vice Marshal on July 1, 2019, and was promoted to the rank of Air Marshal on January 1, 2023.
Served As Western Air Command Chief
Mishra took charge as Commander-in-Chief on January 1, 2025. He subsequently served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command.
The Western Air Command is one of the commands of the Indian Air Force under which Mishra served in his final senior assignment before retiring from service.
His service record also lists his training and courses in the Indian Air Force. He attended the 69 NDA course as a cadet from December 1, 1985. He later attended the 44 FCL course as a Squadron Leader from May 1, 1995.

New Role At Ram Mandir
Mishra has now been appointed CEO of Ram Mandir. The appointment comes after his retirement from the Indian Air Force on April 30, 2026. His new role will place him in charge as the Chief Executive Officer of the temple.
The newCEO will oversee day-to-day administration, finances, and devotee services of the Ram Mandir trust, with an initial three-year term and a requirement to reside in Ayodhya.
