After Dharmendra Pradhan: CJP is targeting Rajasthan education minister Madan Dilawar and demanding his immediate resignation, even as the Congress continues to attack him.

Madan Dilawar, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who currently serves as the Cabinet Minister for School Education, Panchayati Raj, and Sanskrit Education in the Government of Rajasthan, is currently in the eye of a storm stirred up by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
The youth-led CJP is actively targeting him and demanding his immediate resignation due to a series of physical confrontations, ongoing student welfare issues, and institutional failures, even as the Congress continues to attack him. Dilawar has accused the CJP and the Congress of trying to disrupt the state’s education progress and create unnecessary disturbances.
Dharmendra Pradhan had resigned as the Union Minister of Education of India on July 25, following CJP’s protest over NEET paper leak and irregularities.
THE CLASH WITH CJP
Assault on CJP Volunteers during School Inspection: The friction escalated after CJP volunteers were violently attacked during a routine school visit. Under its countrywide “School Thik Karo” (Fix the Schools) campaign, a CJP team led by co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka visited a government school in Rampura-Kanwarpura village, Jaipur.
The party alleges that BJP workers gathered at the site, hurled stones at them, smashed vehicle windows, and physically assaulted volunteers, fracturing the hand of one team member.
Instead of condemning the violence, Minister Madan Dilawar publicly congratulated the villagers, stating they were merely “protecting their school”, which further enraged the CJP leadership.
Restrictions on Inspecting Schools: Following the growing momentum of CJP’s grassroots checking campaigns, the Rajasthan education department imposed a ban on unauthorized outsiders taking photos or videos inside government schools, citing privacy. The CJP interprets this as an attempt by Dilawar’s office to suppress the media and hide the subpar infrastructure of the state’s educational institutions.
Dilapidated School Infrastructure: The CJP has brought severe infrastructure failures under Dilawar’s leadership to light. The school where the attack took place has reportedly been operating out of a buffalo/cattle shed for several years. CJP highlighted that a major tragedy occurred when a government school building collapsed in Jhalawar, resulting in the deaths of seven students.
Subsequent state audits revealed that out of roughly 63,000 government schools in Rajasthan, over 5,600 structures and nearly 87,000 classrooms are completely dilapidated or critically unsafe.
Mid-Day Meal Scandals: The campaign intensified after around 30 students fell ill after consuming a mid-day meal at a government school in Kota—which happens to be Dilawar’s home district. CJP leaders used this incident to label his administration as highly incompetent regarding basic student safety and health protocols.
CURRENT STATUS
CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka issued a strict 48-hour ultimatum to Madan Dilawar, demanding the immediate arrest of the individuals involved in the Jaipur assault and the withdrawal of the media ban in schools. Failure to comply will result in an intensified, statewide agitation directly aiming for the minister’s resignation.

Following the recent clash where CJP volunteers were assaulted during a school inspection in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Congress officially condemned the attack. Congress leaders openly accused the police of remaining mute spectators and alleged that the violence was “pre-planned and carried out at the behest of Madan Dilawar.”
During the state’s monsoon assembly session, Congress MLAs staged a massive dharna (protest) outside the Rajasthan Assembly. Led by senior leaders, the opposition boycotted the house proceedings to demand the immediate resignation of Madan Dilawar over institutional negligence.
Congress leaders, including the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tika Ram Jully, have continuously grilled Dilawar in the assembly over systemic failures. Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra accused Dilawar of ruining the education system, highlighting that more than 1.25 lakh teaching posts have been left vacant under his watch.
Congress countered Dilawar’s attempts to deflect blame for school infrastructure collapses (like the Jhalawar tragedy). They pointed out that the BJP administration failed to allocate adequate repair funds and only initiated school safety audits after a strict High Court order. Congress leaders claim that Dilawar’s order to ban unauthorised photos/videos in schools is a desperate attempt to hide severe infrastructure deficiencies across rural Rajasthan.
Congress has repeatedly targeted Dilawar for his abrasive language. Dilawar sparked a massive political row when he defended a fellow minister by comparing accusations made by State Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra to “a prostitute accusing a chaste woman.” Congress launched state-wide protests demanding strict action for the derogatory remark.
Congress strongly protested Dilawar’s decision to remove school textbook chapters that highlighted the historical contributions of the Gandhi-Nehru family, calling it a politically motivated move to distort history.
While Dilawar has dismissed these attacks by accusing Congress of trying to derail the state’s educational progress, the combined pressure from both Congress and the CJP has left the Education Minister heavily cornered.
