Meghan Markle could be preparing for an acting comeback nearly a decade after leaving the profession, with reports linking the Duchess of Sussex to a possible role in Netflix’s hit series The Gentlemen.

The Hollywood Reporter said Meghan was in advanced talks to appear in the show’s potential third season, though Deadline described the discussions as hypothetical because the series has not yet been renewed for another season.

No role has reportedly been decided for Meghan, who rose to global fame playing Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits from 2011 to 2018.

Netflix and representatives for Meghan and Prince Harry have yet to comment on the reports.

Meghan’s possible Netflix return

Created by British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen stars Theo James and follows an aristocrat who inherits a country estate, only to discover that it is at the heart of a large cannabis operation and a criminal underworld.

The show’s second season is due to be released next month, meaning any appearance by Meghan would depend on Netflix ordering a third season.

Her reported return to acting would mark a major shift for Meghan, who left Suits before marrying Harry in 2018. She subsequently stepped away from royal duties with Harry in 2020 and moved with him to California.

Since then, the couple have pursued commercial and media projects, including a Netflix partnership that produced documentaries and other programmes about their lives.

The reports of Meghan’s possible acting comeback come as she and Harry prepare for another significant change.

Harry and Meghan returns UK

Harry and Meghan have reportedly relocated from the United States to a private, non-royal home outside London with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

British media reports said the family could return to Britain by the end of the month, with the children expected to begin school in the UK in September.

The move would come six years after Harry and Meghan left Britain amid a bitter rift with the royal family.

The couple’s relationship with the monarchy has remained strained, particularly after Harry’s 2023 memoir Sparewhich detailed his disputes with members of the royal family.

However, there have been signs of a thaw. In July, Harry, Meghan and their children visited King Charles III at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire. It was reportedly the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years.
