Captain Harry Kane played seven matches for England in FIFA World Cup 2026 and scored six goals in addition to providing one assist for Jude Bellingham in the Round of 16 match against Belgium, but the 32-year-old failed to find a place in the FIFA Dream XI of World Cup 2026.

In the FIFA Dream XI of the 2026 edition of the World Cup, picked by fans around the world, three French and three Spanish players managed to find their place along with two from Argentina and one each from Norway, England and Cape Verde, but England captain Harry Kane and Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon were the notable omissions.

While Kane finished the tournament as the fifth-leading goal-scorer and played a big role in England’s third-place finish, Simon kept seven clean sheets in this year’s tournament and conceded only one goal in eight matches. No player in the history of the FIFA World Cup has kept more than five clean sheets in one edition, but despite a record-breaking performance in Spain’s second FIFA World Cup title win, Simon was not picked. Instead of the Athletic Club star, Cape Verde’s Vozinha was included in the FIFA Dream XI as the shot-stopper.

The 40-year-old Vozinha was one of the best players in FIFA World Cup 2026. He played four matches for Cape Verde and made many superb saves to help his side earn a goalless draw against Spain in their first-ever World Cup match. He later impressed with his performance in the Round of 32 match against Argentina as well.

Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who scored eight, seven and 10 goals respectively in FIFA World Cup 2026, were the three forwards in the Dream XI, while the midfield included Jude Bellingham, Michael Olise and Rodri.

In the recently concluded 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup, Olise assisted seven goals for his French teammates, whereas England’s No. 10 Bellingham scored 10 goals in addition to providing one assist. Meanwhile, Spain captain Rodri topped the list of players with the most completed passes and dominated the midfield throughout the tournament. For his superb performances, he also won the FIFA Golden Ball.

The four defenders in the FIFA Dream XI were Pedro Porro, Lisandro Martinez, Dayot Upamecano and Marc Cucurella.

The omission of Harry Kane from the FIFA World Cup 2026 Dream XI does not directly impact his legacy, as the Dream XI is a fan-selected team and not an official award.
