It is said to be India’s first AI-powered musical micro-drama, which has been produced as a 12-episode series for social media. According to Amita, technology may change but the core of storytelling will still remain human. The story of ‘Mohini’ was written first and AI was used later. Amita says that ‘the biggest misconception about AI is that people have started considering it as a creative decision-making unit. AI itself does not decide anything, rather the human decides what to get it to do. In the case of ‘Mohini’ also, the story was written first and later AI was used as a creative tool. Just as mobile phones, computers and digital cameras changed the process of film making, AI has also brought new possibilities. However, sensitivity, emotions and the soul of the story still come from human thinking. Today there is as much confusion as there is curiosity about AI. The purpose of the story is not to show technology, but a new form of art. According to Amita…the purpose of ‘Mohini: Love Yourself’ is not just to showcase AI. Through this, I want to give a new experience by combining Indian art, Kathak, music and story with new technology. For me, AI is not a destination, it is a medium. In the end, only that content will survive which has truth, emotion and a strong story. Only humans worked in the entire making process of the micro-drama. However, I also do not agree with the fears that the need for artists and technical teams will reduce due to AI. Today the debate should not only be about how much the team size will be reduced, but it should also be seen how much the content output will increase with technology. If a team used to do one project a year earlier and can now do multiple projects, new opportunities will also arise. AI will not write the story, but will change the way it is told. AI’s help is also being taken on the visuals of the new Tiger starrer film. According to Amita, ‘Our team is currently using AI not for making the film, but in pre-production and visual development. Ram Madhvani is also using AI based visual planning in preparation for his next film with Tiger Shroff. Earlier, the visualization of scenes and frames was explained through sketches and references, whereas now AI quickly creates visual references. This allows the production, cinematography and costume teams to work in better coordination. AI is a collaborative tool, not a substitute.’
