Film director Priyadarshan is no longer a part of the comedy film ‘Hera Pheri 3’. After the film’s producer Firoz Nadiadwala, Priyadarshan himself has also confirmed this. Priyadarshan told Hindustan Times that he has parted ways with the project.
He also expressed apprehension that due to many legal disputes and mutual differences, the film might never be released in theatres. There is a controversy going on for a long time regarding the rights and cast of the film.

Film director Priyadarshan had directed Hera Pheri.
Priyadarshan said- It is not certain that the film will be made. Priyadarshan told that what producer Firoz Nadiadwala has said is true. I am not associated with ‘Hera Pheri 3’ at this time. He further said that as far as I know, this film will never be able to come on screen due to many legal complications and mutual disputes. It doesn’t matter now whether I am involved in this or not.
What is the legal dispute regarding the rights of the film? ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has been stuck in legal matters for a long time. ‘Seven Arts International’, a South production house, has claimed that the rights to this franchise and its characters are with them and not with Firoz Nadiadwala. He alleges that Firoz only had limited rights to make the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Ramji Rao Speaking’ (Hera Pheri, 2000).
He has broken the contract by making ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and transferring its rights to Akshay Kumar’s company ‘Cape of Good Films’.

Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty have been a part of both the films of Hera Pheri franchise.
There is a problem regarding music rights also. There is a controversy going on not only about the remake rights of the film, but also about its music rights. Priyadarshan had earlier told that some people are claiming the rights of the film, while some are claiming their rights on the music rights. T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar has also publicly declared his ownership rights over the music rights of ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
