The murder plot at Lohagad Fort
On June 18, 2026, Ketan died after plunging 400 feet into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune during what was supposed to be a birthday trek. Siya initially told the police and family that Ketan had accidentally slipped and fallen while posing for photographs.
However, police investigations revealed that Siya was in a secret relationship with Chetan, whom she met at a business event in 2025. Viewing Ketan as an obstacle to their relationship, the duo allegedly conspired to execute the murder.
Investigators allege that weeks prior, Siya hid Ketan’s passport to sabotage a pre-wedding photoshoot trip to Bali. On June 14, she allegedly tried to push him at the same fort, but he caught a cliffside bush; she covered her tracks by fabricating a snake sighting.
On June 18, Siya met Chetan at a cafe hours before the trek to finalize the plan. They lured Ketan to the cliffside, where he was pushed to his death.
How the crime was unearthed
The Lonavala Rural Police grew highly suspicious due to two major red flags.
Ketan’s family and the police noticed that Siya appeared completely stone-faced and unemotional immediately following her fiancé’s death.

CCTV footage from the fort showed a man, later identified as Chetan, tracking the couple closely while wearing a thick winter hoodie and a headset in 33 degrees Celsius heat. Footage also caught Siya glancing back at him, after which he immediately sat down to hide.
Following police interrogation, Chetan allegedly confessed to the crime. Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested and remanded to police custody on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
