French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday shared a selfie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the G7 Summit, accompanying the photograph with a one-word caption: “Nice!”
The post appeared to be a playful double entendre — expressing approval of the moment while also referring to Nice, the French Riviera city hosting this year’s G7 Summit.
The image, taken against the backdrop of the Mediterranean coastline, showed the two leaders smiling as world leaders gathered in southern France for high-level discussions on global security, trade, artificial intelligence and ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine.

India-France Ties in Focus

G7 Summit Begins
The G7 Summit is expected to focus on a range of pressing global challenges, including the ongoing conflict in West Asia, developments in Ukraine, global trade, artificial intelligence, energy security and climate action.
Although India is not a member of the G7, Prime Minister Modi has been invited to participate in outreach sessions as New Delhi’s global influence continues to grow.
The summit will also provide an opportunity for India to engage with major world powers at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
Macron’s post quickly gained attention online, with many users highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between Paris and New Delhi and the cordial chemistry between the two leaders.
