Controversy regarding the film ‘Black Deer’ is continuously increasing. Now senior actor Govind Namdev has seriously accused the makers of the film of cheating and keeping him in the dark. Namdev said that the story of the film told to him by the makers was not actually made.

This film is said to be based on the 1998 blackbuck hunting case, on which Salman Khan has also taken legal action for misuse of his identity. Govind Namdev has made it clear that he considers Salman as his close friend and will not be a part of any project against him.

First told the name ‘Sambhal’, then talked about action

71 year old veteran actor Govind Namdev told in an interview to Amar Ujala that when he signed this project, he was given some more information. He said, “Initially the makers told me that we are making a film named ‘Sambhal’.

At that time I had no idea that later on its story would be completely changed.” Later the makers told him that the name of the film is ‘Black Deer’ and it will only show the court proceedings related to Salman Khan’s case, which is already on record.

In the first look, actor Kashif Iqbal Khan has been seen in the character Ayaan inspired by Salman.

Said- used me fraudulently

Govind Namdev said that when he saw the trailer of the film after its release, he was deeply shocked. He said, “As soon as I saw the trailer, I was completely blown away. I immediately understood that this was a completely different film from the one I had shot for.

We were never told that a character looking like Salman Khan would be created and he would be misrepresented like this. Watching the trailer, I felt that I had been used by keeping me in the dark. There is a world of difference between what I was told and what was made.”

Bishnoi cannot consider the gang as his ideal.

Referring to his old friendship with Salman Khan, the actor said that he would never be a part of any film which targets his friend. Namdev also gave a big statement regarding Bishnoi gang. He said, “I cannot consider any Bishnoi gang as my idol. I cannot even think like this. The makers had assured me that I am only doing the court scene and nothing new is being added from outside the court file. But now the things that have come to light have made me extremely uncomfortable.”

Salman sent notice to the makers

On Friday, Delhi High Court has issued a notice on the application of actor Salman Khan, in which he demanded a ban on the release and promotion of the film Black Deer. The court directed to issue notice to producer Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, director Bharat Srinet, Akshay Pandey and others associated with the project.

Justice Neena Bansal Krishna also considered Salman Khan’s application seeking an interim stay on the release of the film. The court was told that the trailer of the film was released on Friday, whereas earlier it was indicated that it would be released on June 20. After this, the court fixed the next hearing of the case for June 19.

In the video, the main character Ayaan was seen wearing the same type of bracelet, which is often seen in the hands of Salman Khan.

Blue bracelet said to be a symbol of identity

Salman’s plea states that the film and its related promotional material appear to be inspired by or based on the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

According to the petition, even if the actor’s name is not used directly, audiences can easily identify him from posters, promotional materials and public statements from people associated with the project.

The petition also mentioned a poster released on May 29, 2026. It was claimed that the character shown in it resembles Salman and is wearing a bracelet similar to the blue colored bracelet considered to be the actor’s identity symbol.

Amit Jani’s statements were also cited

It has also been said in the application that the character in the poster has been shown with a weapon, while Salman has been acquitted in the case related to the Arms Act. The actor says that this can send a wrong message.

Salman’s lawyer also argued that the story of the film seems to be related to the cases which are currently pending in higher courts. According to the petition, promotion of content based on such topics can influence pending judicial proceedings and impact the right to a fair trial.

The application also cited alleged media interviews, social media posts and public statements of the film’s producer Amit Jani. It was said that the film was linked to the black buck case and gangster Lawrence, in an attempt to gain promotion.

According to the petition, on April 24, 2026, a legal notice was sent to the people associated with the project, in which a demand was made to stop the development and promotion of the film. However, the actor alleges that despite the notice, promotional activities continued, due to which he had to come to court.

The appearance and walking style of the main character of the film matches that of Salman Khan.
