Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been in jail continuously since 5 August 2023.
The Pakistani journalist who feared the death of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has retracted his claim. Pakistani journalist Wajahat Saeed Khan living in America had released a video at 11 pm on Tuesday night expressing the fear of Imran’s death. Imran is lodged in Adiala jail of Rawalpindi.
After this news, Imran’s sisters also raised questions that they were not being allowed to meet their brother. Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has warned that if he is not allowed to meet Imran, his supporters will take to the streets.

Journalist Wajahat Saeed Khan had said in the video claiming Imran’s death – At least three senior officers of the Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi fear that Imran Khan is no longer alive. He later said that this was not a confirmed news, but only an assessment based on apprehensions within the army.
PTI said- will take to the streets
After the journalist’s claim, Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that if permission is not given to meet him, more than 20 lakh people are ready to take to the streets. The party has announced a long march till Islamabad on 27 September.
Sisters met Imran in November 2025
Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan visited him in Adiala jail in November 2025. After coming out of jail, Uzma had told that brother Imran is completely fine. The meeting between the two lasted for about 20 minutes. He had said- Imran Khan’s health is absolutely fine, but he is very angry. They are being mentally tortured and Asim Munir is responsible for all this. They have no access to the outside world.

When the administration did not allow the meeting, the rumor spread
His supporters and family members had come to meet Imran Khan in the beginning of November 2025, but the jail administration did not allow them. After this the rumor spread that Imran had died and the Pakistan government was hiding it. After this, a big demonstration was held in Pakistan, in view of which a high alert was issued from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.
Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023
Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023. He has been sentenced to 14 years in prison in a corruption case, which includes charges like selling government gifts (Toshakhana case) and leaking government secrets.
Imran is accused of selling Pakistan government’s land worth billions of rupees cheaply to Al-Qadir Trust. Imran was arrested in this case on 9 May 2023. After this, many important army bases were attacked across the country.
Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had booked Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and 6 other persons in December 2023 in the Al-Qadir Trust case. However, before this case was registered against Imran, he was already lodged in Adiala jail in the Toshakhana case.
Al-Qadir Trust case is a scam of Rs 50 billion
- According to Pakistani media reports, there are 4 important characters in this case. Imran Khan and wife Bushra Bibi, billionaire land mafia Malik Riaz and Bushra’s friend Farah Gogi.
- The Pakistan government alleges that when Khan became Prime Minister, he implicated Malik Riaz in a money laundering case. Riyaz’s property worth billions of rupees was confiscated in Britain. One of his henchmen was also arrested in London, from which 40 billion Pakistani rupees were recovered.
- It is alleged that two deals were made after this case. Under this, the British government returned the money recovered from Riyaz’s henchman to the Pakistan government.
- It is alleged that Imran did not inform the cabinet about this money. Rather, he formed a trust named Al Qadir and started a university to provide religious education. Its board of directors had 3 members. Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and Farah Gogi.
- It has been said in the FIR of this case that Malik Riaz gave land worth billions of rupees for this. Also gifted a diamond ring to Bushra Bibi. In return, all the cases of Riyaz were dropped.
- Pakistan Home Minister Rana Sanaullah said after Imran’s arrest – This is the biggest scam in the history of Pakistan. The government treasury suffered a loss of at least Rs 50 billion. Despite this, neither Imran nor Bushra came for questioning even once in 13 months. Only 32 students took admission in this university in 3 years.
- According to Geo News, looking at the whole matter, a charge of taking bribe of Rs 1,955 crore was registered against Imran Khan and his wife.
Imran was last seen in May 2024
Imran Khan last appeared in the Supreme Court of Pakistan through video conferencing on 16 May 2024. During this, he alleged that 5 days before the general elections, I was convicted in different cases, so that I could stay away from the elections. Imran also gave the example of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said- Kejriwal was also given bail to campaign during elections in India.
