The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG re-exam will be held on June 21. Experts who are involved in preparing, reviewing, and translating the paper have been placed under “lockdown” till the re-test is conducted. They have been placed under strict isolation until the exam, reported Times of India, meaning they have been moved to a secure secret location where their communication with the outside world is heavily restricted.
Officials said that question paper setters, moderators, translators, and other staff involved in making the re-exam paper are staying at a secure facility under supervision. Mobile phones, laptops, smartwatches, and other personal devices are not allowed. Internet access and contact with people outside the facility have also been tightly controlled. Entry and exit are being closely monitored, and only authorised personnel are allowed inside.
These special security measures were introduced after the NEET UG paper leak controversy that led to the cancellation of the May exam and caused concern among more than 22 lakh students.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has instructed officials to fix all security weaknesses identified in the previous examination cycle and ensure a fair and secure re-exam, the report added.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also officially dismissed circulating allegations regarding a purported leak or sale of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper, characterising the claims as entirely false and fraudulent.
The NTA has strengthened its operational protocols to eliminate any risk of compromising sensitive assessment materials. The agency highlighted that the preparation, storage, and logistical distribution of the NEET-UG re-examination papers are managed within a multi-layered, heavily encrypted security framework.
Through the use of advanced digital tracking systems, secure transportation methods, and zero-trust verification processes at every stage, the authority asserts that a sophisticated leak is structurally impossible under the existing administrative system. Law enforcement agencies and cybercrime units are reportedly monitoring the digital footprints of the accounts responsible for creating the false leak narratives.
