In France, a 51-year-old former bank manager was sentenced to 25 years in prison for physically, mentally and sexually abusing his girlfriend for 7 years. The accused was accused of forcing the woman into violence and forced sexual relations. The name of the 42 year old victim is Letesia R. She told the court during the hearing of the case that bank employee Guillaume Buchi gradually took her under his control under the pretext of sex game relationship and then pushed her into prostitution. He forced them to have sex with his friends, colleagues and strangers and also made them list clients. “I stopped counting after 487 men,” Letesia said, “including some people I had to meet multiple times.” As soon as the verdict was announced after more than four hours of debate in the court, the victim started crying while the accused stood expressionless. A day after the birth of her daughter, Rep. Leticia told that this incident started at Christmas time in 2015. Buchi then forced her to have sex with another man at a service station near the highway. He was forced to have sex with strangers near railway stations and highways. He said that sometimes up to 14 people would come in 24 hours. Leticia said that initially she thought it would just be light sex games and if she didn’t like something then everything would stop. But gradually the situation became extremely violent. When she denied anything, the accused used to punch and kick her. Many times, when she was being sexually abused, the accused used to listen to all this on the phone. Leticia said that Buchi used to arrange clients, settle the money and keep his share of the earnings. The victim said that in 2017, she was forced to have sex with a truck driver the very next day after she was discharged from the hospital after the birth of her daughter. The woman is the mother of four children. However, it is not clear from the report how many of her children were living with her during her relationship with the accused. Buchi used to threaten to kill. During the hearing, Buchi confessed to several acts like strangulation, body burning, bestiality (sexual acts involving animals) and scatophilia (feeling sexually aroused by things associated with human feces). But he claimed that all this was happening with mutual consent. He told the court that he did not think he was harming his partner. However, the government lawyer presented such messages and voice recordings in the court in which Buchi was seen threatening to kill the woman if she did not obey the orders. This proved that the woman was forced to do all this under pressure and fear. In the case, there are allegations not only of sexual violence but also of extremely brutal physical violence. An audio recording shows Leticia screaming and crying while a customer beats her with a stick, belt and wooden plank. According to investigators, there were blood stains on the wooden paddle with which he was hit. Photographs of the victim’s swollen face were also shown in court. Prosecutors said Buchi could pose a threat to other women, so they were seeking a life sentence. But the court sentenced him to 25 years in prison and said he would be eligible to apply for parole only after serving at least two-thirds of his sentence. Leticia, who got courage from the famous case of France, rejected the demand of conducting this case behind closed doors. She said she was inspired to go public with her story from a woman named Gisele Pellicote. Pelicot is the same woman whose husband drugged her and got her raped by strangers. That matter became a topic of discussion all over the world in 2024. Pellicote demanded an open trial in her gang rape case and later became a symbol of women’s rights in France. However, a big difference in this case was that Buchi did not make the woman unconscious, but tortured her while keeping her completely conscious. Now the question is being raised as to why action was not taken against those other men in the case of Leticia like Pelicot. According to the victim’s lawyer Philippe-Henri Onager, identifying all those people would have been a very difficult and lengthy task. He said that if all the accused were included, the investigation could have taken much more time and the accused could have got a chance to be released from custody. According to the lawyer, Leticia wanted the trial to proceed quickly. Feminist activists say that in this case only the main accused got attention and the other men were left behind. He believes that if the investigating agencies use their full strength then other accused can also be identified. However, in this case the same digital evidence was not found as was found in the famous Pellicote case. Pellicott’s husband had saved the videos and names on his computer. ———————— Trump government’s top Hindu official Tulsi Gabbard resigns: She is the head of 18 American intelligence agencies; Trump’s government’s top Hindu official Tulsi Gabbard, whose husband is battling cancer, resigned from her post.
