Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had also not given permission for this. The goats were brought here illegally. We were discussing the same issue with the people of the society. After some time, a person came and tried to attack with a knife.” This hurt my hand, he said, “We went to the police station and lodged an FIR, but the section of attempt to murder was not included in it. Our main demand is that a case should be registered against the accused under Section 307.” Police have registered a case in the matter and investigation is ongoing. Somaiya’s allegation – Attempt to create an atmosphere of fear. On this matter, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged that an attempt is being made to create an atmosphere of fear in Hindu dominated areas. He said the administration is taking action to remove the goats and prevent such incidents. Religious activities should take place at designated places only. Somaiya told reporters, “Some Muslim leaders are trying to create a ‘Naya Pakistan’ here. Three weeks ago, an attempt was made to murder a security guard in the same area. Under no circumstances will we allow forced infiltration into Hindu dominated areas, sacrifice of goats there or creating an atmosphere of fear among Hindu families. It is the responsibility of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to make proper arrangements and a designated market for the sacrifice. Sacrifice of goats will not be allowed in housing complexes, residential societies or open public places. The goats were deliberately brought here to create an atmosphere of fear.
