The Education Ministry has reduced the revaluation fees of the Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE after protests by class 12 students. Now for the scan copy you will have to pay only Rs 100 instead of Rs 700. Now it will cost only Rs 25 instead of Rs 100 for re-testing each question.
Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar made these announcements during a press conference on Sunday. He also said that if the total marks of a student increases by even one point then he/she will be refunded the fees deposited for the revaluation process.
Between May 19 and May 22, students can get their scanned answer sheets. If they want to get their copy verified or re-evaluated, they will be able to do so in the next one week between 26-29 May.
However, the board said that the process of re-evaluation will also be done through OSM (On Screen Marking) and not manually. The board has clarified that if more applications come, the board can extend the date of this process.
Students had complained – ‘Low marks came because of OSM’
The Education Ministry has taken this decision after the impact on the results due to On-Screen Marking System (OSM) in CBSE 12th Board. Actually, after the CBSE 12th board result, many students and their parents have raised questions on the on-screen marking system. Their complaint is that due to on-screen marking i.e. OSM, students have got very low marks in class 12th.

Rahul said- Education Minister failed from NEET to CBSE
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter – First NEET paper leaked, which affected 22 lakh students. Then CBSE 12th students got less marks than expected due to a faulty OSM system, due to which many students lost their college eligibility.
Now lakhs of CSBE 9th class students have suddenly been asked to learn a new language from July 1, while there are no teachers, no textbooks. Three exams. Three age groups. A minister. Dharmendra Pradhan ji has not failed only once. They have together failed every age group of students in India.
Students with 99 percentile in JEE do not even have 75% in 12th board.
Students alleged that due to the copies being checked on the screen, there were irregularities in step-marking. Due to this, many marks were deducted even if the answers were correct. Even the students who scored 99 percentile in JEE are out of the 75% criteria of the board. Now they will not be able to take admission in IIT-NIT. Because according to the norms, along with a good rank in JEE Main, 75% in 12th board is compulsory. CBSE said on OMS – those which have irregularities should be checked manually.
During a press conference in New Delhi, Education Ministry’s Sanjay Kumar said that the on-screen marking (OSM) system has not been implemented for the first time. CBSE first started OSM in 2014, but did not continue it due to lack of technology and infrastructure at that time.
Sanjay Kumar said that out of 98,66,222 answer sheets, there were only 13,583 copies whose scanned copies could not be checked on screen. This probably happened due to the student using a pen with light colored ink. After May 9, these copies were manually checked and the results were declared on May 13.
