New news has come out regarding Salman Khan’s upcoming film Mathrubhumi. According to reports, many changes have been made in the film so that there is no negative impact on the improving diplomatic relations between India and China. It is noteworthy that the film was earlier named Battle of Galwan, which was changed to Mathrubhumi this year. This film was based on the conflict between India and China in 2020. Recently, relations between the two countries have improved, so the Defense Ministry had some reservations about the content of the film. Bollywood Hungama reports that as per the instructions of the Ministry, China’s name will not be taken in the film. Around 40% of the film was reshot. A source was quoted as saying in the report, “Initially, the film was inspired by a true incident, but at the behest of the Defense Ministry, Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia reshot the film and added a little fiction angle to the story. About 40% of the film was reshot, in which romantic scenes and backstory were also added. The makers sent the new film to the ministry so that they could get the NOC, but the ministry still has some concerns.” The source further said, “Salman Khan was also told that there should be no mention of China in the film. This was already told to the makers. There is no mention of China in the new version submitted this month.” The film was scheduled to release on 17 April 2026, but was postponed due to changes in shooting and content. On the other hand, Salman Khan may soon start shooting for his next film with Dil Raju. Nayanthara will also be seen in this film and it will be directed by Vamshi Pedipalli.
