Some time ago he also suffered from pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital and died at 8:30 am today. Today itself his last rites were performed at Thaltej crematorium. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar that he had known Bhim Vakani for years. He did a lot for his children Disha and Mayur. He had his blessings on me. While Dilip Joshi said in the conversation, Bhim Vakani encouraged his children to enter the acting field. He himself sent Disha to Mumbai, which was a big decision. He worked with many filmmakers including Sanjay Goradia. Bhim Vakani has worked with Shahrukh-Aamir. Disha Vakani’s father Bhim Vakani is a senior actor. He played the role of Qazi in Aamir Khan’s Oscar nominated film Lagaan. Apart from this, he has also been seen in Shahrukh Khan’s film Swedash and Madhuri Dixit starrer film Lajja. Bhim Vakani worked with his daughter in the show Taarak Mehta, and has also been seen doing a cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with Disha Vakani. In episode number 1320, he played the character of Mavji Chheda, a friend of Jethalal’s father Champaklal.
