The Kuwaiti oil tanker Al Salmi was struck by an Iranian drone while anchored off Dubai Port. The attack on the very large crude carrier (VLCC) occurred at around 12:10 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) said.

.All 24 crew members on board the tanker have been confirmed safe following the incident in waters off Dubai.
Dubai authorities confirmed that response teams have successfully extinguished the fire involving the Kuwaiti tanker.

Earlier, a Greek-owned container ship near Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura reported two incidents of projectiles striking the water close to the vessel, maritime security experts said.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the tanker strike near Dubai or the projectile incidents off Saudi Arabia.
