Having secured an All India Rank 13 in CA Foundation, Divya Thakur is now preparing for the CA Intermediate level.
At 18, Divya Thakur lives in Kolkata with her parents, carrying forward a strong family legacy in Chartered Accountancy. She completed her schooling from Mahadevi Birla World Academy in 2025, scoring 97.8% in Class 10 and 98.8% in Class 12.
Surrounded by numbers and balance sheets at home, with both her parents and her grandfather being Chartered Accountants, Divya naturally gravitated towards Commerce in Classes 11 and 12. As part of her curriculum, she also pursued a stock market–related course from NSE, which deepened her interest in finance and investments.
Since childhood, she had watched her parents and grandfather work closely in the profession, and their dedication inspired her to follow the same path. Her love for Accountancy in school made her choice even more certain. However, the journey was not without challenges.
Interest In Accountancy
Just before her Law paper, she fell ill and had to balance her health with her studies under immense pressure. “My interest in Accountancy during school made the decision even clearer. However, the journey wasn’t always smooth. During my exams, I fell sick just before my Law paper and had to manage both my health and studies. Also, in Class 12, I lost my grandfather. He was very involved in my academics and always encouraged me. It was a difficult phase, but I pushed myself to fulfil his dream of seeing me become a Chartered Accountant,” she told News18.
Divya began her CA Foundation preparation with Physics Wallah. With limited time between preparation and the exams, her days were packed – she studied from morning till late at night, maintaining strict discipline. Regular revision and consistent practice became the core of her strategy, helping her strengthen her understanding and boosting her confidence for the exam.

Advise To Aspirants
“Every meaningful journey begins with the right guidance. Hard work is important, but combining it with smart work makes a big difference. Most importantly, consistency, even on difficult days, is what helps in the long run. There will be challenges, but staying focused and trusting your preparation will help you get through them,” Divya advises CA aspirants.
