Hari Singh missing after Maldives speedboat crash; Gautam Singhania injured but safe as Indian Navy and Maldivian authorities continue search operations.

India’s ace rally car driver, Hari Singh, is missing after a speedboat crash in the Maldives. Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond Group, sustained injuries in the accident but is safe.

Along with Hari Singh, 59, two Indian passengers are reported to be missing, and search operations are underway in the region.

At the time of the accident, Gautam Singhania and Hari Singh were among the seven people on board the speedboat when it overturned, according to reports.

After the crash, Singhania and others were rescued. Search operations for Singh and other missing people are underway in the area of the accident.

Who Is Hari Singh?

A five-time winner in the Indian National Rally Championship, Hari Singh is renowned for his glorious career as a rally driver. He also secured triumph in the first Asia Zone Rally Championship.

Singh represented India in various international rally competitions and later went on to become the Head of Operations at JK Tyre Motorsport. He was also associated with Mercedes-Benz.

Reaction From Motocross Fraternity

The news has left the motocross fraternity concerned about Hari Singh. Rattan Dhillon, a rally driver from Chandigarh, expressed his worry in a post on ‘X’, saying, “How unfortunate… Mr. Hari Singh sir, a true legend of Indian motorsport and closely associated with JK Tyre and Mercedes, has gone missing following a speedboat accident in the Maldives.”

Hoping for his safe return, he noted the Indian Navy and the Maldivian authorities are continuing the search operation.

“It’s been over 22 hours since rescue operations began, and the Indian Navy along with Maldivian authorities are continuing the search. Thankfully, 6-7 people on board, including Mr. Gautam Singhania, have been rescued safely. Hari sir needs our prayers right now hoping for his safe return!” he said.
