Two ships carrying LPG are among 11 Indian vessels stranded due to heavy shelling by Iran and Israel amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.

According to government sources, the Indian Navy is in touch with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, who want the ships to wait till the situation is normal.

The government sources told News18 that out of the 11 stranded ships, two are carrying LPG – Jag Vasant and Pine Gas – and they were stopped due to the heavy shelling. The Centre is, however, hopeful that there will soon be a positive response and domestic production will boost the supply chain.

The sources said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is having a leadership crisis after the killing of Iranian national security chief Ali Larijani and there is much confusion among the ranks when it comes to decision making.
