The Afghan Defense Ministry had said that Pakistan would be given a ‘strong response at the right time’. The ministry had described these attacks as a violation of the country’s sovereignty. Pakistan has been pressurizing the Taliban government of Afghanistan for a long time to not allow its land to be used by any terrorist organization. After America’s attack on Afghanistan in 2001, Pakistan supported America. This angered TTP, who considered it against Islam. TTP believes that the Pakistan government does not believe in true Islam, hence it attacks against it. TTP has deep links with the Afghan Taliban. Both groups support each other.
