United States President Donald Trump made a bizarre joke involving himself and his two eldest sons while speaking about recipients of the Medal of Honour during the inauguration of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota, on Wednesday.
Speaking about former US president Theodore Roosevelt and his son, Trump noted that they were one of only two father-son pairs to have received the United States’ highest military award for bravery.
“Except for Arthur and Douglas MacArthur … they’re the only father and son pair to receive our nation’s highest military award for courage above and beyond the call of duty,” the US president said.

Looking at his sons in the audience, Trump then joked: “Now, as I see my two beautiful sons sitting there, I think I’m going to give one to myself, one to them, and we’ll have a threesome.”

Trump’s remark was met with awkward laughter from the audience at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.
As the remark drew audible reactions from the audience, Trump clarified that he would choose only one of his sons.
“Ok, I’ll pick out one of the two. I’ll give them the Congressional Medal of Honor for something for their genius at hunting, and I’ll get one for taking on Russia, Russia, Russia, or something, and we’ll have a third pair now,” he said.
Trump concluded the exchange by saying he was “only kidding.”
The remarks came during Trump’s address at the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, where he paid tribute to the 26th US president and spoke about Roosevelt’s legacy.
