The number of devotees in Chardham Yatra is continuously increasing. Till June 30, 13.92 lakh devotees have visited Badrinath and 13.68 lakh devotees have visited Kedarnath. At the same time, the first batch of Amarnath Yatra left from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu at 4 am on Thursday morning. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha sent off the devotees. The 57-day yatra will start from July 3 via both Pahalgam and Baltal routes and will continue till August 28 (Rakshabandhan). In the first batch, only those devotees were included who had already registered, got RFID card made and had completed e-KYC. All the devotees left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp amid tight security arrangements. Badrinath moved ahead in 20 days. A big change has been seen in the Chardham Yatra in just 20 days. Till May 31, the number of visitors to Kedarnath was more than two lakhs than Badrinath, but from the third week of June the trend changed and by June 30, Badrinath was ahead. Till now 13,92,584 devotees have reached Badrinath and 13,68,170 devotees have reached Kedarnath. That means Badrinath is ahead of about 24 thousand devotees. More than 18 thousand devotees are reaching Badrinath daily. Till the end of May, 25 to 28 thousand devotees were reaching Kedarnath daily, whereas in Badrinath this number was between 15 to 18 thousand. From the third week of June, the number of devotees in Badrinath increased rapidly and the difference of more than two lakh between the two Dhams closed. All preparations for Amarnath Yatra are complete. The first batch will leave from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu amid tight security. Only those devotees who have completed the process of registration, e-KYC and RFID card will be included in this. Offline registration is also going on at Tawi Riverfront Centre. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reached the base camp on Wednesday and took stock of security, medical, accommodation, electricity-water, help desk and other arrangements. About 4 lakh devotees have registered for the Amarnath Yatra. This year, so far about 4 lakh devotees have registered for the Amarnath Yatra. The yatra will operate via Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal route in Ganderbal district. The administration has already completed security, medical, transport and other necessary arrangements, so that the Yatra can be conducted safely and smoothly.
