On Wednesday, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot a woman riding in a car in the US city of Minneapolis, killing her. The woman has been identified as Renee Good (37). She was the mother of three children.
According to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the agent took action after the woman tried to hit the officers with her car.
President Donald Trump has defended ICE agents. He claimed that the woman deliberately targeted the officer. Responding to the video of the shooting, Trump said, “The video is horrifying.”
Immediately after the incident, hundreds of people gathered at the spot and started raising slogans against ICE. By evening, a vigil was also held there, in which people protested against the immigration agencies.

Government said- the woman tried to crush the officers
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that the woman had tried to run over the officers with her car. He described the incident as a “domestic terrorist attack” on ICE officers.
However, Minnesota Mayor Jacob Frey, in a press conference, completely rejected the government’s claims. Jacob said that immigration agents are creating chaos in the city.
“We demand that ICE immediately leave the city and state. We stand strongly with our immigrant and refugee communities,” they wrote on social media.
He said that anarchy is being spread in the name of security. Families are being broken and now people are even being killed.
Know what happened on the spot
Many videos of the incident have surfaced on social media. The video shows an ICE officer approach the SUV parked in the middle of the road and ask the driver to open the door.
Then the vehicle moves forward and the second ICE officer standing in front immediately takes out his gun and fires at least two bullets at very close range.
It was not clear whether the vehicle hit the officer or not. After being shot, the SUV collided with two vehicles parked nearby and stopped. Later the medical team tried to save the woman, but she died.
