Early life and family
Born in Karnataka, Yash’s real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda. He inherited two names from his family. The legal name was Naveen, while the mother’s side of the family named him Yashwant. The actor had told that he was very careless and irresponsible during his college days. He had a lot of raw energy at that age. He wanted to look different everywhere. Be it in class or outside the college, he was always trying to do something different. Looking back, he felt that he was trying to be a larger than life person.
The actor had told that during college, he was a good dancer, was also famous and felt like a star. He felt that everyone was looking at him, girls were looking at him and he had a strong gang that no one could compete with.
But when he joined theatre, there was a change in his life and this was the turning point which completely destroyed his ego. In theatre, he learned not only acting but also the discipline of life. Cleaning floors in theatre, erecting sets, doing small tasks, all these were experiences that kept him grounded. Theater connected him with literature and gave him the vision to understand life.
